Meet Our Guest Bloggers

Bridgette Brown My name is Bridgette Brown and I am from the beautiful and up-and-coming city of Richmond, Virginia. I enjoy singing loudly in my car, going to concerts, and spending time with my friends and family. I have been natural for five years. During this time, I have big chopped twice and started my loc’d journey. I decided to return natural because I felt my hair was not healthy and I could never reach a hair length past my shoulders when using a relaxer. I worked with various women who were natural and I saw the confidence they exuberated as they rocked and embraced their hair in its natural state. I wanted that.   My favorite thing about being a natural hair blogger is influence. It makes me proud when I am able to aid someone in seeing their natural beauty and I am able to help them with tips, techniques, and tricks in efforts to see their hair flourish.      Favorite Style: Bantu Knot Out Favorite Food: Curry Chicken   Fun Fact: I am obsessed with dark lipstick, preferably matte.

Shianne Edmunds Hometown: Houston, Tx Favorite food: Roti/Caribbean Food Go to style: Bun Fun fact: I haven't used heat since I've been natural and I'm looking forward to doing my first straight length check. During a stretch I fell in love with my new growth and never turned back!  What's your favorite thing about being about being a natural hair blogger? Being able to share my experiences and knowledge about hair care with other naturals.   I am a fun loving, light hearted person who just wants to help others and talk about hair!

Alicia Davis Location:   Brooklyn, NY Fave Food: Cookie Dough Go to Style:   Crown Twists Fun Fact:   Interned abroad in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania I was without relaxer for the first 18 years of my life, alternating between braids and pressings. On my 18th birthday (2009), I relaxed my hair (DC humidity wasn't conducive to press styles!) I relaxed twice more after that before regretting my decision due to severe breakage and transitioning back to no relaxer. I've been fully without relaxer since 2011 and started wearing curly styles in 2012. Have not looked back! I enjoy writing about topics that are important to me and my audience and meeting new people with shared interests.   Aside from natural hair, my interests also include healthcare, technology, dancing and working out.
